Welcome to new board members:

** August 2008 - Projects Update ***

Concrete slabs have been installed and new picnic table sets have been placed in the common areas

We have met with a couple of engineers to try to make some progress on the ditch repairs and always seem to end up back on square one.  Each new prospect seems to have potential, but ends up not following through.  We are diligently trying to get this project completed.

We have been trying to recruit new potential board members for the upcoming annual meeting. (Saturday August 16, 2008)

Dues and special assessments have been being collected and we are down to approximately 12 association members that still owe.

Misc Info:

We are still waiting for a return call from the engineer about ditch repairs. We are following up diligently to get these repairs completed ASAP.

A meeting has been scheduled for later this summer with a biologist to discuss pond maintenance.

Yard Sale:

Community Yard Sale... do we want to have one this year?  If you are interested in leading this initiative, please contact a member of the board.

*** March 2008 - Projects Update ***

Road repairs have been started

Some mailboxes were moved closer to the road (with homeowner's permission) so that the mailman is not driving off the road and breaking up the pavement.  Dirt, gravel and sod have been added to the roadsides to stop runoff and erosion.  We are still working on getting a contractor to make the ditch repairs.

Board Update:

We will be needing to add three new members to the board this August.  If you are interested in joining, pleas contact a member of the board.  You are welcome to attend any monthly board meeting to get a feel of what is involved if you are not sure if you are interested.

Other Information:

Dave Westenfelder put a fresh coat of sealant on the entrance signs.

The annual meeting is tentatively scheduled to occur on Saturday, August 23, 2008.  We are looking into a possible new meeting place and will keep everyone updated.

If anyone has any article ideas for the next SLOA Quarterly, please contact Lisa Salasek ASAP.

Community Yard Sale - we are looking for a community member to head up the annual yard sale.  If you are interested, please contact a member of the board.
