Seminole Landing Owner’s Association – Board Meeting

• Meeting is called to order at @ 7:10pm.  Members present Linda Westenfelder, Dave Westenfelder, Roger Marchman, Anna Toler, Dave Brown, Jeanie Bettcher, Dennis Williams and Lisa Salasek. 

• Pricing for signs that state “This Neighborhood Protected By Electronic Surveillance”                       $7.50, plastic             $25, metal

• SLOA window clings for vehicles are $369.00 for 1000, Linda Westenfelder motions to purchase.  Jeanie Bettcher seconds and the motion passes.

• Jeanie Bettcher presented options for live surveillance:

  • Off Duty Sheriff - $30/hr and required a minimum of $100,000 in insurance coverage

  • Night Watchman - $18/hr and would be armed.  No uniform, but has magnetic sign for vehicle that would be patrolling.

  • Security Cameras – 4 cameras with 7 day dvd recording, approximately $4,700 to install and mount.  $1000/year for maintenance (any funds not used in the maintenance fee would be reimbursed at the end of the year).  DVD recorders would need to be placed in an association member’s home or mounted on poles with protectors.

• The annual meeting is this Saturday; please meet at the church for set up at 8am.

• Email Lisa with anything that you need printed for the meeting ASAP.

• Jeanie Bettcher recommends looking at competitors pricing for mowing.  Dave Westenfelder advised that Al Lakowski does a lot of extra work for us at cost or reduced/no charge to the association since he is an invested member of the association.

• Roger Marchman gave the financial report.  As of 8/31/2009 we have

  • $98,323,62 in the Money Market Savings Account

  • $6158.48 in the Checking Account

• Bills to be paid:

o  AL – mowing             $2720.00

o  ECBC Water             $65.37

o  Insurance                    $1443.00

•  Roger Marchman motions to pay the bills.  Lisa Salasek seconds and the motion passes.

• Received an evaluation notice from Baldwin County on lot 17A on the Donovan side that seems incorrect.  It went up from $37,900 to $56,000 and the taxes from $212.24 to $313.60.  All of the other lots remained the same.  Linda Westenfelder will look into the matter and file the dispute if needed.

• Received a 1099 from RBC Bank which we have never received before.  It will be filed incase needed in the future.  SLOA ID#63-1002159

• Roger Marchman motions to prime and paint the boat dock gate.  Dave Brown offers to handle the maintenance at cost.  Jeanie Bettcher seconds and the motion passes.

• The Sweetwater pond aerator was corroded, not working and unrepairable.  The system was removed and should probably be replaced in the spring.

• Lisa Salasek motions to adjourn the meeting.  Linda Westenfelder seconds and the motion passes.
