Seminole Landing Owner’s Association – Board Meeting

• Meeting is called to order at @ 7:32pm.  Members present Linda Westenfelder, Dave Westenfelder, Roger Marchman, Jeanie Bettcher, Anna Toler and Lisa Salasek.  Tommy Taylor was also in attendance.

• Tommy Taylor presented the pond project information.

  • There is a weed problem in all three ponds and conditions that enhance the weed problem

  • Need to fertilize all ponds

  • Water samples of all three ponds were sent out to determine the pH

  • Big Erin pond is the only pond that has fresh water flowing in, so lime treatments may not work

  • Ideally we need to fertilize 3 times a year (40-50 lbs per acre)

  • We will need to lime the ponds before we fertilize to control the weeds

  • Environmentally safe herbicides are available to help the weeds or we need to get 4 carp per acre

  • We will need to communicate/educate all home owners, especially those on the ponds before treatments begin

• Lisa Salasek read the minutes for the February and April 2009 board meetings.  Jennie Bettcher motions to accept the minutes.  Dave Westenfelder seconds and the motion passes.

• Roger Marchman gave the treasurers report

  • $48,052.33 in the Money Market account as of 4/30/09

  • $43118.78 in the checking account as of today

  • We have $4330.00 in dues to deposit

  • 20 lot dues are still outstanding, after June 1st we will start sending out certified letters to start the lien process.

  • We will be refunding Linda Lake the special assessment part of her dues as they were paid at the closing of her home.

• Bills to be paid:

  • Roger Marchman                   $42.00            stamps

  • ECBC Water Auth                  $65.37

  • Baldwin EMC                        $158.00

  • Al                                        $1360.00       mowing

• There is erosion on the ditch on Donovan Drive.  Jeanie motions to make the repairs.  Anna Toler seconds and the motion passes.

• Pump in Erin pond has some exposed wiring.  Will ask Rick Wilson to look at it.

• Watch the common areas.  There have been “young adults” skateboarding in the area and other suspicious activities noted late at night in the area.  Ask association members to report strange occurrences and if necessary contact the authorities.

• Start thinking of a date for this year’s annual meeting.  Are there any incentives we could present to get attendance?

• We are still waiting on the deeds to the common areas from Novonad.  Our attorney has tried to contact them several times.  It would cost approximately $5000 to pursue or we can wait another 2 years since the association has been paying the taxes on the property and it will only cost $500.

Next meeting will be Monday, June 8th at Dave and Linda Westenfelder house @ 7pm.
