Seminole Landing Owner’s Association – Board Meeting

• Meeting is called to order at @ 7:15pm.  Members present Linda Westenfelder, Dave Westenfelder, Roger Marchman, Anna Toler, Dave Brown, Jeanie Betcher and Lisa Salasek. 

• Lisa Salasek read the meeting minutes from May 2009.  Jeanie Betcher motions to accept the minutes, Dave Westenfelder seconds and the motion passes.

• Lisa Salasek read the meeting minutes from June 2009.  Jeanie Betcher motions to accept the minutes, Anna Toler seconds and the motion passes.

• Roger Marchman presented the financial report.

  • Checking account     $7,246.89 as of 6/30/09.  $50,000 was transferred into the Money Market account on 6/24/09 to increase our interest earned on our funds.

  • Money Market Savings account      $98,156.81 as of 6/30/09.  The old savings account has been closed and the final statement received.

• Bills to be paid:

  • ECBC Water Authority                       $64.83

  • Al’s Lawn Care                                  $3,275.00 (2 cuts and ditch repair)

  • Tommy Taylor                                   $51.86 (pond supplies)

  • Tommy Taylor                                   $286.29 (pond supplies)

  • Dave Westenfelder                            $229.19 (ditch repair & chemical sprayer)

  • Roger Marchman                                $95.16 (certified mailings and stamps)

Roger Marchman motions to pay the bills.  Lisa Salasek seconds and the motion passes.

• 18 certified letters for past due annual dues and notice of intent to lien were mailed to association members.

• Annual meeting is scheduled for Saturday, September 12th at First Baptist Church of Seminole.  Meeting notice, agenda, etc will need to be mailed by August 11th.

• A discussion around neighborhood security took place.  There has been increased non-association member traffic and use of our facilities lately.  Dave Brown made the suggestion of a security guard or retired police officer patrolling the

neighborhood a couple nights a week as a possible option.  We will look into options further and will add the issue to the annual meeting agenda.

• FYI… a black bear was spotted in the area of Donovan Drive at the end of June, please be cautious of wildlife in the area.

• The first spraying of the ponds took place and improvement is already visible.  The second round is scheduled in about two weeks with fertilization to follow.  Thank you to the Patterson’s for the use of their boat.

• The next meeting has not been scheduled at this time due to conflicting schedules.
